Mr. Apollo currently serves as the F-35 JPO Product Support Manager (PSM) for the Naval Air Systems Command. He leads the development, implementation, and top- level integration and management of all sources of support to meet warfighter sustainment and readiness requirements for the largest program in the Department of Defense (DoD). Mr. Apollo is responsible for the F-35 logistic support system representing approx. $1 trillion across the life cycle of the program, managing over $5B billion dollars in procurement, operations, and support funding annually. In this role, Mr. Apollo frequently engages critical stakeholders on F-35 sustainment at Senior Executive levels within the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Departments of the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, resource sponsors, professional staff on the Hill, Industry, and equivalent levels across 8 Partner nations and +9 FMS countries.
Before his F-35 PSM role, Mr. Apollo was a Sustainment Executive with The Boeing Company, retiring in July 2020. His 35-year Boeing career was dedicated to military platform sustainment & logistics across DoD and foreign military customers. He is a subject matter expert in logistics disciplines related to Program Management, public-private depot partnership, commercial derivative maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), performance-based logistics (PBL) acquisition design and execution, modification & retrofit, training, supply chain management, support equipment design & support, supplier management, readiness analytics, contracts design, international support and DoD policies and processes.
As an executive, his focus shifted from program management and execution to strategic development of sustainment solutions aimed at increasing readiness and reducing support costs. Mr. Apollo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aircraft Maintenance Management from Parks College of Aeronautics, St. Louis University, and an Executive MBA from Villanova University.
