Profile

Mr. Blauw serves as the Assistant Deputy Commandant of Aviation (Sustainment),
Headquarters United States Marine Corps. He is the principal advisor to the Deputy
Commandant of Aviation on all matters related to Marine Aviation readiness and sustainment.
He is also responsible for the integration of Marine Aviation into the Naval Aviation
Enterprise. Mr. Blauw was appointed to the Senior Executive Service on 10 August 2020.

Commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in December 1991,
Mr. Blauw retired from active duty as a Colonel on 1 October 2020.

Mr. Blauw has extensive experience supporting Marine Aviation from the Organizational
and Intermediate squadron levels, in command and high level staffs. Following his initial
fleet tour at Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC, where he completed a Mediterranean
deployment, he served as an Assignments Monitor and completed a tour as an Operations
Officer planning for the support of multiple combat deployments during OEF and OIF. As a
Lieutenant Colonel, he served as the Commanding Officer for both Marine Aviation
Logistics Squadron 31 at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, SC and in combat as the
Commanding Officer of Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 40 at Camp Leatherneck, AF.
As a Colonel, he was the first commander of the newly established Marine Aviation
Training Support Group 23 at Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL, the sole Aviation Logistics
Colonel level command. His high-level staff experience includes a four year tour on the
OPNAV N98 staff responsible for funding all F-35 Maintenance and Logistics Requirements,
time at Marine Aviation as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer and the lead for F-35 Logistics
and Sustainment. He finished his 29-year career by leading the Aviation Logistics
community through a period of significant readiness recovery for Marine Aviation
beginning in 2017.
