Melvyn Stokes serves as Vice President of Aircraft Maintenance for FedEx. In this role, Melvyn oversees more than 3,500 global team members, who support a fleet of nearly 400 trunk aircraft that serve 375 airports worldwide. Organizations reporting to Melvyn include Aircraft Line and Base Maintenance, Maintenance Operations Control (MOC), Maintenance Training, and Maintenance Planning and Business Analysis teams.
During his 27-year tenure at FedEx, Melvyn has also had VP oversite of Safety, Quality, Dangerous Goods, and Airline Technology. Other leadership roles include Director of Maintenance, as well as Senior Manager and Manager in Aircraft Line Maintenance organization.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Melvyn started his aviation career in the United States Marine Corps. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management of Technical Operations from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of Memphis. Melvyn serves on the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Industry Advisory Board, and the Aviation Advisory boards for Tennessee College of Applied Technology and Arkansas State University Mid-South.
