Tim joined AVITAS in 2013 and is the SVP - Technical Services. He manages the Technical department and is responsible for a group of technical specialists that performs aircraft inspections and maintenance audits, as well as aircraft deliveries/redeliveries, recoveries, and repossessions. His group also engages in tailored asset management programs for the financial industry, as well as technical consulting for projects requiring specialized technical expertise, aircraft management, contract negotiation, or project management skills.
Tim brought to AVITAS over 24 years of technical management experience in aviation. He has held various positions in engineering, contracts, finance, technical, and management at an aircraft manufacturer, major US airline, and one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing companies. He came to AVITAS from AerCap where he was Vice President Technical – The Americas. At AerCap he negotiated technical contracts, transitioned aircraft to and from aircraft lessees, and managed aircraft and engines on lease to commercial airlines in the region. Prior to AerCap, he was at Delta Air Lines for 17 years in roles throughout Aircraft Engineering, Aircraft Contracts, and Aircraft Acquisition & Sales. He began his aviation career as a Test Engineer at General Dynamics, where he designed and performed tests in environmental control systems and emergency egress systems for various fighter aircraft.
Tim holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University. He is also an ISTAT Certified Appraiser.
