Helical Lap I.D. & O.D. cylindrical lapping tools are used worldwide for precision finishing operations by airlines, military, OEMs, and MRO facilities for applications requiring ultra-precise roundness, concentricity & cylindricity such as servo controls, hydraulic valves, fuel system components, & landing gear. Tolerances for diameter and cylindricity held to sub-micron levels are routinely achieved with surface finishes better than 0.025 Ra. Tools can be made as small as .043 up to 6” in dia and up to 14” long. Helical Laps are cost effective and can be used on any machine with a rotating spindle such as a lathe or drill. We also supply hand lap plates & high-quality abrasives designed for scratch free finishes & fast stock removal.
