Lucy is a Partner in the London office of international law firm Bird & Bird specialising in commercial aviation. She acts for airlines, OEMs, MROs, international aerospace companies, travel companies and other aviation businesses on the full range of commercial issues, from high value, high profile projects to business-as-usual matters.
Lucy has a real focus on how technology and data is changing the aviation sector and driving growth. She has experience advising and negotiating complex long term contracts between manufacturers or MRO businesses, and airline customers for equipment and engine support. She advises on outsourcing and major IT programmes as well as on franchise agreements, fuelling arrangements and ground handling agreements – both traditional arrangements and those which are being influenced by digital innovation.
Lucy spearheads Bird & Bird's Travel Group and closely follows developments in the drone and counter-drone sector. She is named in the UK’s Legal 500 for Travel as a Next Generation Partner and was an ‘Associate to watch’ for Aviation Commercial in UK Chambers & Partners 2019.
Lucy spent a few years in industry at BAE Systems and is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a member of its Women in Aviation and Aerospace Committee.
