JD Marymee is a Principal Engineer/Architect in Microsoft Commercial Software Engineering. In previous roles he has defined competitive marketing strategies, reformed teams and built channel/partner ecosystems containing ISVs, Deployment Partners and tier 1 OEMs and software companies (HP, Dell, IBM, CA, Citrix, Hitachi, Fujitsu, and NEC). Additionally, he founded and led several leading-edge initiatives within Microsoft, two examples being the Venture Outreach initiative (connection VCs to Microsoft future roadmaps) and a disruptive innovation process within the division.
Previously, JD has founded or co-founded six startup ventures executing many functions from architecting/designing and coding to defining go to market and fundraising. Before founding the several startups, he performed an executive function at Novell Inc. As VP of engineering, JD delivered key world-class operating systems and services, coordinated worldwide engineering teams, defined strategy and operated OPEX and CAPEX budgets divisionally. Other previous roles at Novell included evangelism (for the CEO Eric Schmidt and CTOs), business development, competitive sales and education.
